My project "The Heroes of the Vietnam War," comes from both my love for history and my respect for the men who served during the Vietnam Era. I'm passionate about American History and am compelled to address a branch of our recent past which is either portrayed inaccurately or ignored completely. Children's books can be excellent literary summaries that distill complex historical events into their key components. They can be compact and therefore emotionally and intellectually exciting to children and adults alike, especially when the stories explore hidden histories. My series, "The Heroes of the Vietnam War," does just that. I am teasing out lost treasures that have been kept silent in hearts and mind for years, but must be shared in the form of compelling, relevant, and true-to-life books for children. My goal of establishing a literary body of historical non-fiction about the Vietnam War and its associated events will take ten to twenty years. I suppose that's when writing becomes less ofa career and more of a calling.

I have written and maintained the website ReaganGirl.com for two years. My articles have been published on The Foundry, The American Thinker, The Daily Pamphlet and numerous other websites and print sources. I regularly write news articles and commentaries about local events in Western Colorado.

I have a background in mental health counseling and Special Education. I'm a divorced mommy with four children, two of whom are grown up and two teenagers who make their home with me, two cats, and an aging cockatiel, in the beautiful and rugged region of Western Colorado.
